Version 2.9.1, April 2009
Fixture personalities added/changed
•Martin MAC III Profile, Basic 16-bit. •Martin Extube single segment with HSI, HSIC and RGBW control. •Profiles for 16-bit control of RBG fixtures (includes profile for one 16-bit RGB unit and four 16-bit RGB units).
Miscellaneous Changes
•LightJockey will now recognize Windows Vista (32-bit only) as operating system and allow for Universal USB/DMX interface configuration and use when running under Windows Vista. Note that the Universal USB/DMX interface is the only DMX transmitter hardware that will detect and run under Windows Vista. •The driver for the Universal USB/DMX interface has been updated. Users of the interface will be reminded to update the driver each time LightJockey starts up until the drivers have been updated. Universal USB/DMX users are urged to update the driver as soon as possible.
Bug fixes
•A bug causing the programmed fade times on intensity channels to be affected (increased on fade out) when the master intensity was lowered below 100% has been located and fixed.
Errata
•In the installation notes, there is a reference to LJ manager version 1_4_2. This is an error, as the last version available in this package is LJ Manager version 1_4_4.

I hate to say this, but isn't this a bit slow? 7 is about to come out, and you're just now supporting Vista 32? This is putting you guys in a bad position if you ask me. I heard on a podcast this morning (windows weekly) that windows 7 successor will very likely be 64 bit only.... Now I realize this is quite a ways out, but seriously, don't you also think it wise to start providing some 64 bit support, especially as more and more of your clients will be using 64 bit windows?
Me? I'm about to retire, but I'm hearing more crys for this all the time. I think you guys are going to miss the boat. |

Hello Jeff!
I agree this was slow to have an official release for Vista, but the reality is that the driver for Vista has been available for sometime now as a separate download.
I have yet to try it, but thecnically the driver should also work in Windows 7 32 bit.
As for if Windows 7 will have a 32 bit version... of course it will , MS would not let billions of $ on table like this... Even by the end of the year when MS says they will release Windows 7, the vast majority of PC in the world will still be 32 bit.
We are still investigating then 64 bit option for the Universal DMX box.

Hello Alfoso, yes it is recommended that you uninstall LJ first and also delete all the existing HW-drivers. This can be done in the Software section Windows Configuration screen.
DO NOT FORGET TO BACKUP YOUR LIBRARY FIRST...
Let me know if you experience more problems. |

Paul, there is no doubt that windows 7 will have a 32 bit install, as it is currently available in Beta form. What i stated was that the tech analysts that communicate with Microsoft state that the OS following 7 will be 64 bit only. 32 bit will go away, just as 16 bit windows 3.1 did.
Sure, you have a Vista driver for the Universal device....Too bad that your Vista support doesn't include a driver for the USBII as well. I spent alot of money for this controller only to have it go obsolete with the new universal controller that does have support. In order for me to continue to use the USBII device, with a newer OS, I must use compatability mode, and IMO, this simply isn't as good as running in native mode.
As I'm retiring, it is less of a concern, as I won't be upgrading to the universal device, but I still wish to sell my USBII, and as it doesn't offer native support, makes it of less valuable. |

Hello Kris,
I'm still getting the same error even after unstalling LJ first and confirming there is no driver data left in the LJ folder. Just in case, when you say "This can be done in the Software section Windows Configuration screen", what part in the Windows system are you exactly talking about? By the way, I'm trying to install 2.9 in an XP Japanese system, not Vista and I have several other Martin software installed, like the Martin Uploader, MUM, Maxxyz PC, MSD 5, etc. |

Hello Alfonso, Please uninstall the DMX drivers again, and delete all the following files too as they are not automatically deleted...: usbdmx.dll MartinUSB.dll You can find them in the LJ program folder but you may also find them in the system32 folder of Windows. Make sure they are deleted on both places before you install the new drivers. If they were still on your system, Windows will keep using the old DLL's... Now you are able to install v2.9.1 again on a fresh system.
In Windows, I meant the "Add or remove Programs" section in the "Control Panel". Best Regards, |

Hello all Is there any improvement of the driver in a standard XP environment? I ask this because of still having timing problems with dmx in (often discussed in this forum). I don´t want to make much experiments with my well working LJ but if there is a improvement possible I would try this update. Best regards Tobias Kammerer |

| I tested the older one universe USBII DMX on a show this past week on a Vista 32 bit OS computer and it worked fine. I didn't know if it would work because only the new Universal USB DMX is listed as having drivers for Vista OS. So, as you can see, after reading your post I felt compelled to find out if it worked on my Vista OS computer. I was using the latest available 2.91 version of Light Jockey. |

on my xp 32 bit no problem but on my VJ Workstation no chance! 64 bit only!
i also hope for 64bit support... Windows 7 is the last os from microsoft coming out in 32 AND 64 bit, next os only supports 64 bits!

Hi,
Yes! It works now. I am currently downloading the file. Thanks for fixing it. I am looking forward to experimenting with the MAC III profile on this new release!

Hi Bolle, there is an issue with the Microsoft MediaPlayer in Vista and Martin LJ. You can use Winamp instead. |

I just bought a new Intel Atom yesterday just for LJ use. Small cpu and has a single PCI slot(just for LJ). This is what I get when I tried to download the new software.
550 /Controller/Lightjockey/LJ_2_9_1_Large.zip: Access is denied or 550 /Controller/Lightjockey/LJ_Older_Releases: Access is denied.
I had the older CD which came with the cards and LJ works fine. I just want to download the new revised software with the new fixtures. |
